Los Temperamentos premiere their new concert program
Iguanas, parrots, snakes and vultures provide the framework for the ensemble’s new program, which is all about baroque
ostinatos, dances and elaborate variations associated with the animal kingdom. Whether the works, most of which have been handed down orally, encourage ecstatic dance, tell of everyday village life or sing about the beloved ‘Dove’; They are all part of the musical pillars of a living culture.
Every child in Mexico can whistle along to a song like “Los Pollos” (the chickens) as we know a nursery rhyme such as the German “All my ducklings”…
For the first time, arrangements and compositions by the Mexican-born singer Jorge Martinez will be heard in this program alongside the arrangements of our artistic director N. Cortés Garzón.
On the premiere weekend Los Temperamentos will tour the monastery church in Vechta, the Early Music Days in Georgsmarienhütte and their adopted home of Bremen.
