In co­op­er­a­tion with the Bal­let Fol­clóri­co Na­cional del Perú
Los Tem­pera­men­tos teams up with the Na­tion­al Folk­lore Bal­let of Pe­ru, when they make their de­but at Hamburg’s Elbphil­har­monie in De­cem­ber.
The mu­sic of the codex Martínez y Com­pañón, writ­ten in Pe­ru in the years 1782-1785 and per­formed in this con­cert through re­con­struc­tions and arrange­ments by Nés­tor F. Cortés Garzón, will be ac­com­pa­ny­ing the Pe­ru­vian dancers in col­or­ful cos­tumes when they vi­su­al­ly re­vive the hun­dreds of years old tra­di­tions pre­served in the codex.
Ex­clu­sive­ly for these con­certs, Fabri­cio Varela Trav­esi re­con­struct­ed the dance steps of the mu­sic of the Pe­ru­vian Tru­jil­lo re­gion of that time and the dancers’ cos­tumes were al­so de­signed ac­cord­ing to il­lus­tra­tions of the codex.
In this con­cert, vi­brant Pe­ru­vian rhythms meet baroque in­stru­ments and an in­ter­na­tion­al group of young artists, con­sist­ing of dancers, singers and in­stru­men­tal­ists, who bring the more than 200 years old mu­sic back to the our times with their cre­ative and unique in­ter­pre­ta­tions.
