Fiesta Peruana
In cooperation with the Ballet Folclórico Nacional del Perú
Los Temperamentos teams up with the National Folklore Ballet of Peru, when they make their debut at Hamburg’s Elbphilharmonie in December.
The music of the codex Martínez y Compañón, written in Peru in the years 1782-1785 and performed in this concert through reconstructions and arrangements by Néstor F. Cortés Garzón, will be accompanying the Peruvian dancers in colorful costumes when they visually revive the hundreds of years old traditions preserved in the codex.
Exclusively for these concerts, Fabricio Varela Travesi reconstructed the dance steps of the music of the Peruvian Trujillo region of that time and the dancers’ costumes were also designed according to illustrations of the codex.
In this concert, vibrant Peruvian rhythms meet baroque instruments and an international group of young artists, consisting of dancers, singers and instrumentalists, who bring the more than 200 years old music back to the our times with their creative and unique interpretations.
